How much do the patients, our families deserve?
The holidays always seem to come so fast, and once they are here they go by even faster. During this holiday season we should all take a moment to slow down long enough to put our industry and for many, our life’s work into perspective. All of us in this industry contribute to the well being of patients either directly or indirectly. We all know that Doctors, Nurses and many others are directly responsible for the care of the patients that visit our healthcare facilities each and every day, but how do you contribute? The infrastructures of healthcare facilities around the globe depend on the invaluable people who design, construct, inspect and maintain these systems. This is the reason it is so important to continually educate ourselves to find better and safer ways to design, engineer, construct, inspect and maintain the very health care facilities we work in on a daily basis. It is for this reason that this e-news is written and sent out week after week; to make a difference. We all get tied up with the day to day minutiae, but rarely take the time out to realize how important it is to do our jobs and do them well. Each time a patient is cared for in a healthcare facility, they expect to receive the best healthcare available anywhere in the world. It’s what America is all about, isn’t it? While celebrating the holidays, take time out and think about the lives each of us touch indirectly on a day-to-day basis. Believe in what you do and do it to the best of your ability. If your heart isn’t in it, then find something that you whole-heartedly believe in. The patients, our families deserve the best we have to offer.
