“Lessons Learned”, FREE Medical Gas Healthcare Seminar
 
The Long Island Healthcare Life Safety Association is sponsoring a free educational seminar presented by Mark Allen. Mark is the Corporate Marketing Director for BeaconMedaes and is on the Technical Committee on Piping Systems for the NFPA 99C Gas and Vacuum Systems.
 
This FREE seminar will offer attendees both AIA and NYS Department of State Continuing Education Credits through Medigas® Life Safety Group.
 
The 5 hour information packed seminar includes:
 
·        Mark’s insight into the 2010 NFPA and ASSE. You will find out what changes are being made and how to plan for them.
·        What medical air is, and how to design and build a system in an easy to understand, step by step format.
·        Vacuum=Suction, a discussion on suction use in a medical application, the hazards when you are on the table and what technologies are available.
·        Gas distribution systems, liquid vs. gas and what the applications for both are.
 
The seminar is being held on March 18th, 2009. Registration starts at 8:30am and the seminar starts at 9:00am. Free breakfast and lunch will be served for this event.
 
The seminar will be held at the Town of Islip Town Hall West building. The Town Hall West building is 3 blocks west of Route 111 in Islip on Main Street (#401). There is off site parking which will be emailed to each individually registered attendee prior to the seminar date.
 
The L.I. Healthcare Life Safety Association was formed to bring together Healthcare Professionals, Architects, Engineers, Inspectors, Maintainers and Contractors to offer education to key people in the healthcare industry. Our hope is to increase knowledge and communication between all parties. In doing so, we hope to increase patient safety for our families and friends.
